Whoo-whoo wants to learn about owls? If you have a student who is fascinated by these stealthy, intelligent birds, grab our Owl Lapbook and get started on an amazing learning adventure.

How to Complete Research for the Owl Lapbook

By the time your student is finished with this research project, he will be an expert on owls.

This lapbook was designed to give your student ample research opportunities. I recommend teaching your student how to find quality websites such as Britannica Kids or Kiddle, or going to the library to get books for this project.

Even though your student will have to conduct simple research in order to create this lapbook, it will be a guided process. The prompts on the pages will help him through the process and teach him the meanings of new words.

For example, as your student is completing the Hunting Methods Accordion Book, he will read through this information on the page:

Owls have two methods of hunting. The first type is perch and pounce. This is when an owl sits on a branch and waits for prey. When it spies it, it pounces on it.

The second type of hunting is quartering. This is when an owl flies low over the ground in search of prey.
