San Jose’ is the capital of Costa Rica and it is also the largest city in the country. Its nickname is “chepe” and is a common nickname for the name Jose’.  San Jose’ houses about half of the population of Costa Rica.

Costa Rica produces lots of food: coffee, pineapples, bananas, sugar, corn, rice, beans, and potatoes.

Currency: Costa Rican Colón

Climate: Costa Rica has a tropical and subtropical climate with a short dry season and a long rainy season.
