What’s Included in the Circus Movement Cards?
The file includes 16 circus themed cards with these exercises:
- pop like popcorn
- bounce the ball (like a seal)
- twirl like cotton candy
- juggle the bowling pins
- shoot like a cannon
- float like a balloon
- ride like the bear
- jump through the hoop
- hula like the dog
- walk the tightrope
- life the barbell
- sway on the swing
- throw the darts
- pick up rubber ducks
- toss the rings
- spin like the wheel
Add some enthusiasm while demonstrating the actions, and your students will catch on quickly. The cards are best used with the prompting of a teacher (or group leader—if you want to have one of the kids take the lead).
You can activate your students’ imaginations with these cards! Have they even seen cotton candy being made? The maker spins and spins and spins to grab it. Can they twirl like cotton candy? Can they pretend to juggle bowling pins or lift a heavy weight like a strongman? Lay down on the floor and pedal the unicycle like the bear? Have fun with this!
Consider using big, dramatic movements to help your kids get their wiggles out.
