We are only a few weeks into summer and already my kids are complaining of being “bored.” Any boredom buster ideas for me?
Summer Adventure Boxes!
Years ago, my friend Ging at Tortillas for Breakfast came up with the idea of putting boxes of goodies together following each of her children’s interests. Each child had his/her own box, which included things like books, videos, craft supplies, stickers, experiment kits, model kits, etc. built around a single theme. These boxes kept her children busy all summer! She shared the idea with some homeschooling forums including Homeschool Share and in typical homeschool mom style, we all ran with it!
Ami at Walking by the Way made a fantastic Mad Scientist Adventure Box for her son.
Jen at Jen’s Little Things made a fun filled adventure box about birds.
And she also made one about Dinosaurs.
Michele at Korea Mom created one for her children focusing on insects:
So if you can’t go on a summertime adventure,
bust boredom and make one!
