So, it’s no surprise that I LOVE all things gingerbread!! I think it’s the kindergarten teacher in me. 🙂
I can remember planning gingerbread activities and units when I taught (more than 10 years ago) and now I enjoy planning those fun activities and more with my own children! They have become accustomed to our yearly gingerbread houses, reading the favorite gingerbread stories and lots of gingerbread fun in December.
Long before I knew of Homeschool Share, Jan Brett was one of my favorite children’s authors. She still is.
Gingerbread Baby is probably my all time favorite Jan Brett title as well. So, of course we must read it every.single.year.
Now there is another gingerbread title for us to read by Jan Brett!
If you’re going to do a gingerbread unit study, there are a few more things that you simply must include:
Read the original Gingerbread Man & Gingerbread Baby ~ compare & contrast
Watch a few videos on Jan Brett’s website to see her baking gingerbread babies!
Color a few pictures from Jan Brett’s own drawings!
