1. Four pigs flew over the grain elevator. Later, eight more
pigs flew over the grain elevator. In all, how many pigs went flying?
2. The "Blue Plate Special" at Uncle Roy's cafe is $3.95. How much
does it cost to purchase two specials?
3. From my high view I could see many houses. I saw twelve yellow
houses, and some blue houses, and twenty white houses. I saw forty-six
houses! How many were blue?
4. There are eight rows of grain in each field. There are ten
fields. How many rows total?
5. There are 200 acres of wheat on one side and 300 acres of wheat on the
other. How many acres in all?
6. Six grain elevators were painted gray. Ten trucks were painted
blue. Seven grain elevators were painted white. How many grain
elevators were painted?
7. There were fifty wheat fields. A tornado destroyed half of them.
How many are left?
8. We baked twelve loaves of bread on Monday and half that amount on
Tuesday. How many loaves of bread did we bake in all?

10. Twenty men left for work. All but four were headed to the wheat
