Harold's Drawing Game!
Illustrate the poem,
"Johnny Drew a Monster"
Fraction Pies
Discuss basic fractions with your student as you look at the fraction pies
together. Then, let your student cut them apart (and put them back
together again). Can he find different combinations that will work
together to make one whole pie? (1/4+1/4+1/2 or 1/8+1/8+1/4+1/2, etc.)
When you are finished, you could have your student glue the fractions on a piece
of paper (back into pies). Have fun exploring the world of fractions!
Fraction Pies
Blank Fraction
Pies -
You can let your student write the correct fraction (1/4, 1/3, etc.) on these
blank pies.
Crayon Memory Card Game
Crayon Colors Version
(for beginners)
Play this game in the same way that you would play
traditional memory (concentration). The only difference is that the
Harold's Purple Crayon match counts as three matches (three points instead of
one)
Color Theory Version (advanced)
Play this game in the same way that you would play traditional memory! Be
careful-- it's tricky to match these up! You can also use
these cards to reinforce lessons on primary colors, secondary colors, tertiary
colors, color mixing, and complimentary colors.
