**Use the first chart and the USPS to find out how much it would cost to send things from your house to Lewiston, ID.  Let your student use the second chart as he desires (How much would it cost to send a package to grandma?  How much would it cost to send him to grandma?). Have fun with this!

Additional Ideas for your Lapbook
~Make a replica of the 1914 flag and attach it to a popsicle stick and keep it in a long, skinny pocket

~If you choose to do the lesson on braiding, tie several strands of yarn together and tie it in a knot.  Let your student braid it.  Punch a hole in your lapbook and attach the braid on permanently.

~Try the Postal Pack link in the Printables section; it is FULL of great ideas and information that can be cut out and pasted into minit books (including a design-your-own postage stamp!).

~You can also use any of the Notebooking Pages.  Just fold them up and store them in a pocket in your lapbook.
